316 / 316L Stainless Steel Hex Bar is a six-sided bar made from austenitic stainless steel alloyed with 2–3% molybdenum. This addition improves pitting resistance in chloride-rich environments such as saltwater, making it superior to 304-grade stainless.
316L has a lower carbon content, which prevents carbide precipitation during welding and enhances resistance to intergranular corrosion, particularly in pressure vessels and welded assemblies.
