347 Stainless Steel Coil

High-performance 347 stainless steel coils from Stellanox Steel are designed to withstand intergranular corrosion and high temperatures. 347 stainless steel, stabilised with niobium (columbium), is a great option for applications in the petrochemical, chemical processing, power generation, and aerospace industries because of its exceptional weldability, oxidation resistance, and creep strength.

In harsh conditions, including as temperature cycling and post-weld exposure, these coils retain their structural integrity.

What is 347 Stainless Steel Coil?

During welding or prolonged exposure to high temperatures, 347 Stainless Steel Coil, an austenitic stainless steel stabilised by niobium and free of titanium, can withstand the precipitation of chromium carbide. In the temperature range of 427 to 900°C, it excels at continuous service and outperforms unstabilized 304 or 316 stainless steels.

Both hot-rolled and cold-rolled forms are available, and its surface treatments can be altered to satisfy a variety of manufacturing and design needs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Explore our FAQs for insights on materials, customization, and delivery.
Why choose 347 stainless steel over 304 or 321?
347 provides better creep and stress rupture resistance and is ideal for high-pressure and high-temperature environments.
Is 347 stainless steel good for welding?
Yes, its niobium stabilization prevents intergranular corrosion, eliminating the need for post-weld heat treatment.
Can 347 stainless coils be used for food-grade applications?
Yes, especially in steam-based systems or high-temperature food equipment.
What is the maximum operating temperature for 347 stainless steel?
It can handle continuous service up to 900°C and intermittent exposure up to 925°C.
