Super Duplex Stainless Steel

At Stellanox Steel, we are a leading supplier of Super Duplex Stainless Steel, offering material solutions that deliver exceptional strength, superior corrosion resistance, and outstanding durability for the world’s most demanding industries.

Our Super Duplex products are engineered to perform reliably in highly aggressive environments — such as offshore oil & gas operations, deepwater pipelines, chemical processing, marine structures, and desalination plants — where ordinary stainless steels fail.

What are Super Duplex Stainless Steel?

Super Duplex Stainless Steel is an enhanced version of standard duplex stainless steel with a higher content of chromium, molybdenum, and nitrogen.
This composition results in exceptionally high strength, superior corrosion resistance (particularly against pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking), and excellent weldability.

Super Duplex alloys typically deliver twice the yield strength of austenitic grades like 304 and 316, along with the corrosion resistance equivalent to or better than higher-cost nickel alloys, offering an economical alternative for critical applications.

Frequently Asked Questions

Explore our FAQs for insights on materials, customization, and delivery.
What is the difference between Super Duplex and regular Duplex Stainless Steel?

Super Duplex stainless steels have higher chromium, molybdenum, and nitrogen content, resulting in even better corrosion resistance and strength compared to standard duplex grades.

Can Super Duplex Stainless Steel be welded easily?
Yes. While welding procedures must be properly controlled (especially cooling rates and filler materials), Super Duplex can be welded effectively for field and fabrication work.
In which industries is Super Duplex stainless steel most commonly used?
Super Duplex is commonly used in offshore oil & gas, desalination plants, chemical processing, marine industries, and energy generation where high strength and corrosion resistance are crucial.
Is Super Duplex Stainless Steel magnetic?
Yes. Due to its dual-phase (ferrite-austenite) structure, Super Duplex stainless steel is partially magnetic.
