Hastelloy

Stellanox Steel offers premium-grade Hastelloy® products, a family of corrosion-resistant metal alloys designed to perform in the harshest chemical and marine environments. Known for their excellent resistance to oxidizing and reducing agents, high thermal stability, and mechanical strength, Hastelloy alloys are widely used in chemical processing, marine systems, aerospace, and flue gas scrubbers.

We supply Hastelloy in multiple grades such as Hastelloy C22, C276, B2, X, G30, and more — available in sheets, plates, pipes, tubes, bars, and fittings.

What is Hastelloy?

Hastelloy is a trademarked name for a group of corrosion-resistant metal alloys primarily composed of nickel, with varying additions of molybdenum, chromium, iron, and cobalt. These alloys offer outstanding resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking, especially in aggressive chemical media such as hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, and seawater.

Frequently Asked Questions

Explore our FAQs for insights on materials, customization, and delivery.
What makes Hastelloy different from Inconel or Monel?
Hastelloy has superior resistance to reducing acids like hydrochloric acid, whereas Inconel excels in oxidation resistance and Monel in alkaline and seawater resistance.
Which grade of Hastelloy is best for chemical plants?
C276 and C22 are ideal for chemical processing due to their resistance to both oxidizing and reducing chemicals.
Can Hastelloy be welded easily?
Yes. Hastelloy exhibits excellent weldability, especially in low-carbon versions like C276 and C22.
Is Hastelloy suitable for marine environments?
Yes. Its high resistance to chloride-induced pitting and crevice corrosion makes it excellent for seawater exposure.
