Pure Nickel

Stellanox Steel supplies top-quality Pure Nickel products engineered for superior corrosion resistance, thermal stability, and electrical conductivity in chemical processing, aerospace, electronics, and marine industries. We offer Pure Nickel in multiple forms including sheets, plates, rods, wires, strips, and fittings, primarily in grades such as Nickel 200 (UNS N02200) and Nickel 201 (UNS N02201).

These commercially pure nickel grades are known for their excellent resistance to acids and alkalis, high ductility, and magnetic properties, making them a top choice for high-performance and extreme environment applications.

What are Pure Nickel?

Pure Nickel is a silvery-white, ductile metal primarily used where high chemical resistance, electromagnetic shielding, and thermal performance are critical. It is widely adopted in caustic soda plants, battery production, electronics, aerospace, and food processing equipment due to its exceptional purity (>99.6%) and stability under pressure and temperature extremes.

Nickel 200 is the standard commercially pure form, while Nickel 201 is a low-carbon variant used for annealed parts or high-temperature welding applications.

Frequently Asked Questions

Explore our FAQs for insights on materials, customization, and delivery.
What is the difference between Nickel 200 and Nickel 201?
Nickel 200 is the standard commercially pure form, while Nickel 201 has lower carbon content, making it more resistant to embrittlement at high temperatures.
Is pure nickel magnetic?
Yes, pure nickel is ferromagnetic, making it suitable for applications requiring magnetic sensitivity.
Can pure nickel be used in marine environments?
Yes. It offers excellent resistance to seawater and chloride-rich atmospheres, especially in heat exchanger and piping systems.
How is pure nickel different from nickel alloys like Monel or Inconel?
Pure nickel contains ≥99% Ni, offering better conductivity but lower strength than nickel alloys, which are engineered for extreme mechanical or thermal stress.
