17-4PH Stainless Steel Hex Bar

Stellanox Steel offers premium 17-4PH stainless steel hex bars that are designed for applications requiring exceptional mechanical qualities, resistance to corrosion, and dimensional stability. 17-4PH hex bars, a precipitation-hardening martensitic stainless steel, are extensively utilised in industrial, nuclear, marine, and aerospace equipment that needs strength, dependability, and wear resistance in a small, hexagonal shape.

These bars are prized for their superior strength-to-weight ratio and ability to withstand corrosion under both heat-treated and annealed conditions.

What is 17-4PH Stainless Steel Hex Bar?

For precipitation hardening, niobium (columbium) is added to chromium-nickel-copper stainless steel to create the six-sided 17-4PH Stainless Steel Hex Bar. This alloy may acquire extremely high strength, hardness, and corrosion resistance through controlled ageing (H900, H1025, and H1150).

It is perfect for high-load, tight-tolerance applications since it is magnetic and provides a special blend of chemical and mechanical resistance.

Frequently Asked Questions

Explore our FAQs for insights on materials, customization, and delivery.
What is the difference between H900, H1025, and H1150?
These are different aging treatments. H900 provides maximum strength and hardness, while H1150 gives more ductility and toughness.
Is 17-4PH stainless magnetic?
Yes, it is magnetic in all heat-treated and annealed conditions.
Can it be welded?
Yes, 17-4PH is weldable. Post-weld heat treatment is recommended to restore mechanical properties.
How does it compare to 304 or 316?
It offers significantly higher strength and wear resistance, with comparable corrosion performance to 304 in many environments.
